HVR Group Successfully Organises the HVR Baroda Cup

The HVR Baroda Cup 2015 was organised in royal fashion at the Jaipur Polo Grounds in New Delhi. The annual tournament witnessed the presence of actual royalty as well as the eminent personalities and other rich and famous celebrities of the country.

November saw the Jaipur Polo Grounds in Delhi come alive with the thudding of hoofs and the clinking of stirrups during the HVR Baroda Cup. The annual event was hosted by Harshavardhan Reddy known as HVR with Princess Asharaje Gaekwad of the royal family of Baroda. The event was attended by eminent politicians and even Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. Taking place on November 7, the tournament began with an exhibition match between the HVR Baroda Cup and Maharaja Feteh Singh Gaekwad Sports Foundation teams.

The event has almost become a trademark of the HVR Group as well as a must-attend event on the calendars of celebrities and the elite of the country and abroad. The day saw Harshavardhan Reddy known as HVR interacting with the rich and famous personalities of India, who were part of the elite crowd at the occasion.

Along with famous personalities as spectators, the HVR Baroda Cup also witnesses the performances of some of the finest polo players of the country, including Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, and Naveen Jindal, among others. The presence of such notable players is testament to the importance of the HVR Baroda cup is an important event in the polo calendar as well as to Harshavardhan Reddy known as HVR’s own ingenuity in getting such fine players together to further the sport of polo in India and the world.

 


The sport of polo has always been associated with royalty since times past. This was reinforced even in today’s times with the presence of royalty like the princess of Baroda, the Duchess of York and the prince-like Harshavardhan Reddy known as HVR himself



HVR has long had a passion for sports and outdoor activities, believing them to be an integral part of a complete and wholesome education. This passion for sports and a belief in the potential of polo is what convinced Harshavardhan Reddy known as HVR to organise the HVR Baroda Polo Cup. HVR’s commitment to the sport has borne fruit as the event has gone on to become a mainstay of the polo calendar and achieved the status of an annual tournament.

The closing ceremony saw thanksgiving speeches by guests in honour of the Princess and HVR. The presence of people like HVR, the Princess and the Duchess of York made the afternoon truly memorable. Other famous guests included designer Reynu Taandon, cricket commentator Gautam Bhimani, Rajeshwari Raj Laxmi from Jaiselmer, designer Pawan Sachdev, Dr. Pravej Ali Ahmed, jewellery designer Pooja Vaswani, interior designer Parul Mahajan and other personalities.

The finals of the HVR Baroda Cup saw Jindal Panthers and Sona Polo clashing, with Jindal Panthers emerging as the winner. The award ceremony saw Baroda’s Royal Princess Asharaje Gaekwad and the Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, take a small ride to the podium in a tastefully decorated buggy. The prizes and the winning cup were awarded by the two personalities along with Harshavardhan Reddy known as HVR himself.
